| KOKF 90.9 FM Oklahoma City |
| KOKF 91 FM is Oklahoma City's only 100,000 Watt Christian radio station, whose mission is to positively influence the mind and lifestyles of young people in Oklahoma through music and to be a source of information and influence to the Christian community by gathering and sharing information that will affect all Oklahomans for Christ. Born out of a vision by Pastor Ron Dryden to provide teens and young adults with a positive alternative to the mainstream music heard on Oklahoma City radio, KOKF was sold to RDM Broadcasting in October 1985. As a 3,300 Watt non-commercial listener supported station, KOKF literally start out with little more than a few boxes of records on the floor, a couple of turntables and the desire to reach young people through contemporary Christian music. The response from listeners was tremendous. By our first year anniversary the station's note was completely paid off, allowing KOKF to operate debt free ever since. In September 1991, after being granted approval by the FCC, KOKF raised its power to 100,000 Watts with a signal that now cover most of central Oklahoma. Ongoing studies are currently being conducted to see about adding translator stations in other parts of Oklahoma so that at some point in time KOKF's signal can be picked up in just about any part of the state. Christian hit music during the day - Christian alternative music by night. |
